Healthy January – Seasonal Food We Love

January is all about healthy eating, let’s face it… even if your new year’s resolution wasn’t to start eating healthier, you probably are subconsciously anyway! Here we have some seasonal food we love for the month of January, don’t forget to check out our seasonal calendar to keep up to date with the rest of the months!

January Fruits

January is the month of citrus fruits! The best source of vitamin C during the colder weeks. Citrus fruits are also the best source of bioflavonoids, which help us strengthen our immune system and prevent seasonal illnesses.

Fruits in season this January:

  • Apples
  • Clementines
  • Grapefruit
  • Kiwi fruits
  • Lemons
  • Oranges
  • Passion fruit
  • Pears
  • Pineapples
  • Pomegranate

  • Tangerines

January Vegetables

January is a lean month! With vegetables such as kale and beetroot being in season! If you’re not a massive fan of kale we have a top tip for you! Give the leaves and stem a good old massage!  This helps alleviate the bitterness and chewiness often associated with kale.

  • Carrot
  • Cauliflower
  • Celeriac
